Explore with us!

We would like to begin welcoming visitors in 2025-2026

Imagine a black velvet sky with the Milky Way blazing through it. That happens almost every night at Topernawi. Here, we fall asleep to the murmurs of the night, wake at sunrise to the sounds of baby goats, and are serenaded with birdsong all day long.

Imagine looking out in all directions with no signs of human habitation in sight as the pristine landscape stretches to the horizon. The land the way our ancestors knew it. The earliest members of our species trod this very ground at the time that the history of humankind began. The earliest stone tools appear near here, made 3 million years ago!

Imagine a small child's charming smile as she shows you her beads and teaches you how the Turkana makes their famous baskets and necklaces. Imagine seeing the eyes of wisdom as the elders show you the tools they use to survive when they take to the bush with their animals in search of green pasture. Their stories flow with the musical cadence of the Turkana language.

Imagine a place where native wild flora and fauna -many found no where else in the world- have braved the worst that climate change has thrown at them, and yet survived. Beautiful baby monkeys riding on their mothers' backs, spectacular male baboons who look curiously at you and then bark to make clear who's in charge! Hyena cubs playing among the rocks, bat-eared foxes scurrying, antelope springing, huge porcupines, and tiny pygmy hedgehogs. Giant lizards lounging. Eagles soaring. And if you're lucky, maybe even a majestic leopard.

We want to share this beauty with like-minded people.

Are you ready for an adventure?
